Line up of teachers for the fall 2014. This is a pilot series. We want to offer regular morning classes with a pool of dance practitioners that are earnestly investigating their form, and are willing to share their technique and processes. Feel free to send us feedback or ideas: email@example.com
Marika Brussel’s ballet classes are both intense and joyful, bringing the dancer back to his or her love for dance. While the classes are Classically based, we move from the heart and incorporate contemporary ideas into the work. http://www.marikabrussel.com/
AfroCuban Modern Dance Technique. Created by Ramiro Guerra, this technique fuses elements of African folklore and flamenco, while keeping the structure of a Martha Graham class. Additionally, AfroCuban Modern Dance incorporates elements from Limón, Cunningham, and Humphrey to actively cultivate awareness of the body, space, and time.
SEPTEMBER 3-30 : SARAH BUSH / SARAH BUSH DANCE PROJECT “Super Human” – Dance Performance Technique Step in boldly. Shed your outside layers and lives that don’t serve you and bring the brave vulnerable raw core being into your morning practice.
Keep with you only what you need. Stories. The broken pieces of you to recycle. Mosaic. Your years. Your knowledge. Your training. Your techniques. The whole tool kit of your life. Select what you need to best do the job, this job. The one I’m asking of you in this moment. Let go of habits. Train to be a chameleon. Change your skin. Your color. Your character. Drop the blinders of your habits to see the details, the differences. There is another way from point a to point b. and another.
Class progression will be structured to safely prepare you for movement. With care and attention to the needs and limits of individual bodies. flying * falling * catching * velocity * emoting * empathy * expressing * strength * relating * versatility
Essentialist Technique An approach to contemporary dance wherein we investigate what is essential, given concepts of anatomy and intention. Celebrating the nervous system, we do some dancing, using DANCE ELIXIR repertory as a portal. BIO
